Donations:

We are exceedingly thankful for our design funding (~700K) provided by King County Waterworks and the King County Flood Control District.

Also, we are especially thankful for the timely $25K construction donations from the Aldarra Foundation, the Chabot Family Fund, the Peach Foundation, and the additional $20K from the Japanese Garden Society! Early contributions are especially critical demonstrations of community support which will help us secure larger institutional funding. The estimated balance of construction costs is ~$3.2M. (More estimate details available via Latest News)

Our fiscal sponsor is Seattle Parks Foundation. They help us by managing our accounting, contracts, and donations. They have provided the following link so you can share in the joy.

Nature Walks:

During our nature walks we focus primarily on birds and their habitat along the creek. This includes the food they eat, their nesting materials and nest sites, and of course the creatures that eat them as well. This means we are interested in the whole ecosystem and all its interactions. These walks are a way to share our joy, love, and respect for native life with you.

Our walks are co-sponsored by Seattle Audubon Society. They are normally scheduled for the first Sunday of each month. Directions and details are available via the following link. Look for the walk titled:

"Birds and Habitat - along Arboretum Creek"

Project Tours:

Our project tours focus on showing the proposed locations for collecting, cleaning, and conveying (via underground pipes), spring, storm, and pond water into the headwaters of Arboretum Creek.

We meet in front of the Japanese Garden. Tours include about 1 mile of gravel paths and sidewalks. Primarily, along 28th Ave. E. and next to Lake Washington Blvd. Comfortable walking shoes are suggested. To arrange a tour:

Work Parties:

Casey Blanchard, is our Gardener Extraordinaire, from Seattle Parks and Recreation. Casey guides and teachs us about the native plants while we work. We also work with the generous support of the Arboretum Foundation who manages our sign up process.

Going forward, we plan to work on the first Friday morning of each month from March through November. When signing up, via the following link, check the dates closely especially around July 4th:

"FOAC Wetlands Work Group"

So far, the time of day is always 9am to noon. We welcome new friends and enjoy sharing our love of dirt, plants, trees, birds, butterflies and Arboretum Creek!
